OSTEOPATHIC SUPPORT DURING PREGNANCY
Our Osteopathic Services
Pregnancy is a unique experience for every woman. The body from the early stages of pregnancy changes rapidly and must adapt to hormonal, postural and circulatory changes. While the baby grows in the uterus, the spine, hips, and organs of the mother have to adapt to the changes. This can cause pain, sleep disturbance, shortness of breath and digestive problems. Daniel specialises in pregnancy care. Osteopathic treatment provides gentle musculoskeletal care throughout the pregnancy. Treatment is usually very relaxing and enjoyable. Pregnant mothers who have no symptoms are advised to receive osteopathic care every 3 to 4 weeks to allow the body to adapt to the changes and decrease the chances of developing symptoms.
Part of osteopathic care is explaining and teaching mothers how the body changes during pregnancy, preparation for labour and post-natal advice. Daniel uses an integrated approach collaborating with midwifes, obstetricians and ante-natal yoga and pilates instructors.
